I started one order for a $600 amount of amazon gift cards. (I know i should have known the price was too good to be true)
He seemed very polite and after a long conversation through chat the message was understood that I was not allow to use escrow in any way because I have less than 50 trades here and a new member. Lol even mentioning about scammers on this site and it is to protect from them.
I always usually use escrow so I tried another member who advertised amazon gift cards, who is banned now, and ended up being a blatent scammer trying to extort my coins by saying he could close account and lock them forever xD yeah bad scammer.
So I go back to this CryptoSwap guy because he has a few legit trades with long time real looking users and only 1 negative. He agrees to do a small amount with me so I released $24 or so worth of bitcoin to him in hopes he was the one last true trader with actual discounted gift cards. He then probably transfered it and logged off for awhile.
Not sure if he is still trading but I honestly believe he completed real trades with older members and screwed over me and another guy probably newer accounts. I am usually on localbitcoins, but paxful has a very nice setup and I would like the market more if it wasn’t for the amount of scammers here. I probably wouldnt have thrown money at the dude in hopes he was legit if there werent so many other “fraudy” and scammy looking ads in the first place xD
Honestly I’m not salty or anything as I was pretty much betting a 50/50 on him stealing it or actually giving a card, but who better to root these scammers out then the community. Hopefully someone new who decides to trade with CryptoSwap will do a quick forum search before opening a trade with him.
Also, NEVER RELEASE FUNDS BEFORE PAYMENT
my obvious mistake in this matter.
